Anne Goh is currently Head of the Paediatric Allergy Service and Senior Consultant of the Respiratory Medicine Service, Department of Paediatrics, KK Women's and Children's Hospital, Singapore. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. With clinical and research interests in the areas including respiratory infections, bronchial asthma management, obstructive sleep apnoea and allergy, Anne is a reviewer for several prestigious journals, author and co-author of numerous peer-reviewed papers, and is actively involved in clinical trials.

Vanessa McNamara has 20 years of experience working as a clinical dietitian in the community, hospitals and private practice. Vanessa has worked in Australia, the United Kingdom, India and Singapore. In her private practice, The Travelling Dietitian, she works predominantly with children with food allergies. She also has a special interest in fussy eating and helps those with sensory and other feeding problems to improve their relationship with food. Vanessa is trained in Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Therapy and the SOS Approach to Feeding. She is also on the Executive Committee of the Asthma & Allergy Association of Singapore.

Shalyn Wong (Yamanaka) is a registered dietitian specializing in childhood eating behaviours. She works with families and schools to turn mealtime struggles and worries into enjoyable happy times. Her goal is to help children grow up with positive relationships with food and their bodies for lifelong enjoyable habits. Shalyn is an Associate with the Ellyn Satter Institute. She received her Masters degree from Columbia University and is an Accredited Dietitian in Singapore. She is registered in both the United States and Canada && Programme.

Each of the speakers will share a presentation, followed by live Q&A.Role of nutrition in food allergy: Risk reduction and dietary management by Professor Anne Goh Food allergy appears to be increasing worldwide. There is an urgent need to look for possible measures to reduce the risk of development of food allergy. The talk will cover the evidence for breastfeeding, maternal exclusion of allergenic foods during pregnancy and lactation, introduction of complementary foods in the risk reduction of food allergy.

How to introduce solid foods for allergy risk reduction by Vanessa McNamara Guidelines for introducing solid foods to infants at risk of food allergy have changed in the past few years due to emerging evidence of the benefits of early introduction. Our role as dietitians is to ensure this is done in a safe way at the appropriate time for the individual, ensuring the allergic child's nutrient requirements are met along the way. The talk will cover how and when to introduce solids to this high risk group, and how to manage their food allergy in the first few years of life.
